2012 Brunello di Monrtalcino Pre-order Offering

2012 Brunello di Montalcino and Rosso di Montalcino pre-sale offering - Due by Wednesday, March 29th, 2017 - Coming off the amazing 2010 vintage, it may be difficult to fathom another stellar vintage with limited cellar space and a short bank account.  But, the BdM’s are hitting wine critics evaluations and they have nothing but glowing reports with big scores for this vintage.  This pre-sale offering for Casanova di Neri, Altensino, Il Marroneto and Castiglion Del Bosco does not mean that the wines won’t be available later in the year, although it could, since some wines are limited.  I won’t be bringing in all of these, so this is a good way to secure some and with a 15% discount.  Please have your order to me by Wednesday, March 29th 2017.

Casanova di Neri

  • 2012 Brunello di Montalcino Reg. $65.00 Pre-Sale $55.00
  • 2012 Brunello di Montalcino 1.5 L Reg. $155.00Pre-Sale $131.75
  •  2012 Brunello Tenuta Nuova 750ML Reg. $110.00 Pre-Sale $93.50
  •  2012 Brunello Tenuta Nuova 1.5 L Reg. $250.00 Pre-Sale $212.50

2012 Brunello di Montalcino, 95 Points: "Effusive aromas and flavors of raspberry, cherry, floral, mineral and tobacco are at the center of this linear, vibrant red. Well-structured, this offers terrific length on the sinewy finish." ~ Wine Spectator

2012 Brunello di Montalcino Tenuta Nuova, 96 Points: "The Casanova di Neri 2012 Brunello di Montalcino Tenuta Nuova is a beautiful wine that recalls many of the stunning characteristics found in its high-scoring predecessor.  I gave a perfect 100 points to the 2010 edition of this same wine. This expression, made two years later, continues in that tradition of excellence. The quality of fruit is profound and intense. The bouquet offers black cherry, spice, leather, balsam herb, cola and licorice. The complexity is absolutely impressive. The mouthfeel, however, is slightly thinner. The classic 2010 vintage is remembered for its twofold punch of elegance and power. Alternatively, the 2012 vintage shows aromatic intensity and less persistence on the finish, generally speaking. Having said that, this remains one Bellissimo Brunello."  ~ Wine Advocate

  • 2012 Brunello di Montalcino Reg $65.00 Pre-sale $55.00
  • 2012 Brunello Montosoli Reg. $97.00 Pre-sale $82.50

2012 Brunello di Montalcino, 96 Points: "Cherry, leather and iron notes mark this suave, elegant red. A bit reticent now, but the fruit is fresh and long on the finish. The dense tannins leave a mouthcoating impression, but this opens up beautifully over a few hours.”  ~ Wine Spectator

2012 Brunello di Montalcino Montosoli, 95 Points: "This finds good equilibrium between the ripe berry, cherry, tobacco, iron and tea notes. Firm and chewy, with hints of leather and underbrush on the long aftertaste." ~ Wine Spectator

Il Marroneto

  • 2012 Brunello di Montalcino Reg. $68.50 Pre-Sale $58.50
  • 2012 Brunello “Madonna della Grazie”  Reg. $200.00 Pre-Sale $170.00

2012 Brunello di Montalcino, 96 Points: "Made strictly according to the Sangiovese playbook, the Il Marroneto 2012 Brunello di Montalcino shows that exacting Sangiovese precision and personality. This is Alessandro Mori's greatest talent. He takes this workhorse grape and gives it a platform to articulate its most hidden and intricate inner feelings and sentiments. This is a bright and very tight red wine that will benefit from more years to flesh out further. All those budding aromas of wild berry, licorice, cola, and blue flower are strategically in place and ready to explode in time. The wine opens to a luminous dark ruby color and a compact mouthfeel that is spicy and fresh on the close. This is an impressive annata wine that shows the personal evolution of a man and his estate.  ~ Wine Advocate

2012 Brunello di Montalcino “Madonna della Grazie”, 99 Points: "Alessandro Mori is the Sangiovese whisperer: l'uomo che sussurrava il Sangiovese. I need to say it in Italian, too, because it sounds so beautiful. The 2012 Brunello di Montalcino Madonna Delle Grazie is a phenomenal wine that speaks so highly of the potential of the mighty Tuscan grape, Sangiovese. This wine mirrors all the greatest attributes of the 100-point 2010 edition. Most significantly, it delivers profound purity and a most authentic varietal voice that sings both the high notes and the bass-baritone. First you have the wine's dark ruby appearance that is brilliant and vibrant but beautifully concentrated. Then you have the multilayered bouquet that skillfully presents ethereal notes of wild berry and grilled herb on first nose. Those lighter

tones lift gracefully to reveal substantial aromas of dark fruit, spice, tobacco and white truffle that form the wine’s lasting aromatic core. The mouthfeel is feather light in texture, but don't underestimate its power or persistence. This is a true gem of Italian enology and sadly only 6,200 bottles were made."  ~ Wine Advocate

Castiglion del Bosco

  • 2012 Brunello di Montalcino $55.00 Pre-Sale $47.00

2012 Brunello di Montalcino “Madonna della Grazie”, 92 Points: " The Castiglion del Bosco 2012 Brunello di Montalcino exhibits classic lines and aromas that are faithfully characteristic of Tuscany's Sangiovese grape. There's a wild or untamed element with forest berry, underbrush, wild mushroom, lavender, tar and licorice. Balsam herbs also appear with cola and grilled rosemary. There's a lot to keep your attention..."  - Wine Advocate
